Players

Bruce Carver is a Los Angeles percussionist and the best Bodhran player that i have heard here in Southern California. He is also a great teacher if he has time in his busy life to meet with you. Click on his website for more information.

Colm Phelanis a great young player. I really like his solo (duets) disk. The recordings wiith his band Goitse, are also wonderful. He deserves your attention if you don't already know his work.

Eamon Murray of the band Beoga. Eamon is one of the best around. The band is great. Their disks are wonderful and they have a new Concert-DVD avaiable on their website. Eamon also has an ecellent Bodhran instructional DVD- Bodhran Soup avaiable at http://www.bodhransoup.com/.

Jr. Davey is the multiple All Ireland Champion and the trophy that is now awarded at the All Ireland Championships is The Junior Davey Trophy. Notable recordings Skin and Bow, Sound Skin avaiable at Coleman Music Center Online Store .

John Joe Kelley has to be on any list of great Bodhran players. His work with Flook and other groups is some of the best.

Paul Phillips (RIP) is another player who has to be on the list of Bodhran Players.

Liam Ó Maonlaí is one of my Personal Favorites he is great Irish languang singer and All Ireland Bodhran Champion, . Liam plays "hand striker style" . See if you reconize the Bodhran player acompanying Liam on this tune.

Rónán Ó Snodaigh is an other Irish Language singe and Bodhran player worth investigationg. His Bodaran Instruction videos on YouTube are great and show his style. I tried to sell Ronan a DB drum at the first World Bodhran Championships not knowing who he was. Some great recordings with the Family Band- Kila and his "solo" Irish language percussion extraganza Tonnta Ró

Note- If you ever see that Liam and Ronan performing together, which they do from time to time, go see them you wont regret it.

There are a number of other great Bodhran Players that I'm sure i missed. I''ll try to update this, far from compleat, list in the future.
